Is this all a game to Trump after all? On a day when North Korea fired a missile into the sea that it’s calling its most powerful weapon yet, while untold numbers of people continue to grapple with issues of life and death right here in the United States, Trump thinks everything is coming along just fine.
Among other nonsense that he peddled on Twitter late Tuesday, Trump tweeted an arrogant message asserting that today was a “great day.”
‘Great day for Tax Cuts and the Republican Party. But the biggest Winner will be our great Country!’
Early in the day, Trump had been set to meet with Congressional leaders from both parties in an effort to develop a plan to keep the government from shutting down, but Democrats stayed away after Trump angrily tweeted “I don’t see a deal!” ahead of their meeting.
The Democrats weren’t interested in playing along with the president’s ridiculousness.
There remain lots of issues afflicting the people of the United States — but hey, tax cuts for corporations having made it one more step forward make it a “great day,” right? Besides Trump’s early Tuesday meeting with Republicans, the day was also notable for him because the national GOP’s tax plan passed the Senate Budget Committee, meaning it can be voted upon by the full body.
