Remember — Donald Trump didn’t come to occupy the White House on his own. Rather, he was put there by untold numbers of voters who were willing and ready to go along with his belligerence for the sake of feeling better about themselves. After all, here was a guy who said he stuck up for their ideals so passionately that they didn’t have to worry about being in line with everyone’s definition of morals.
Those of us who didn’t vote for Trump could see what an idiot he was the whole time.
Even still, there remain segments of the American voting population that are still of the same mindset they were when they voted for Trump. In other words, they are willing to put their “ideals” above basic human concerns of decency and morality.
These passionately ideological voters have become nationally relevant yet again because of the race down in Alabama to fill the U.S. Senate seat formerly occupied by current U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The Republican candidate in that race, Roy Moore, has been credibly accused of preying on minors during his 30s, if not outside of that time frame as well.
Even still, there are numerous voters who are having a hard time prying their support in the U.S. Senate race in Alabama away from Moore.
One such voter is Ellen Tipton, who spoke to the Los Angeles Times about the Alabama Senate race.
Speaking of her disdain for any candidate who, like Moore’s opponent, Democrat Doug Jones, believes in a women’s right to choose to have an abortion, Tipton commented:
‘I’m torn between voting for a pedophile and voting for a person who believes in abortion.’
Is the choice really that difficult?
