For someone who uses Twitter as much as Donald Trump, he certainly seems to be ignorant of the dangers of the platform, including that of violent people masquerading as legitimate on the site and looking for validation. Of course, much of his ignorance seems to be willful.
On Saturday, Trump retweeted a reply to one of his tweets from the “@magapill” Twitter account, corresponding to a site that claims to list out all of President Trump’s accomplishments.
Captioning his retweet of a post containing a link to the site, Trump wrote:
‘Wow, even I didn’t realize we did so much. Wish the Fake News would report! Thank you.’
The site itself is unsurprisingly blatantly biased in its presentation of Donald Trump’s supposed accomplishments, including items such as Trump’s firing of James Comey that only Trump’s most devoted followers would consider an “accomplishment.”
As for the site’s Twitter account, going not very far back at all reveals it to be an unsurprising purveyor of nonsense conspiracy theories.
Within the last couple of weeks, the account posted a flow chart claiming to depict the “swamp.” (Trump came into office promising to “drain the swamp.”)
The chart contains ludicrous claims, such as that government interests carry out “false flag” terrorist attacks and that the “funders” of a vast global conspiracy to control the population carry out rituals like child sacrifice.
Check it out below.
And this is the kind of voice that Trump wants to give a national platform through his Twitter account?
