Although the ultimate responsibility for Donald Trump’s presidency does not rest solely with him, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan certainly bears some responsibility for the Trump Administration and all of the trouble it causes for millions of Americans.
Although he initially refused to support candidate Donald Trump, he eventually got behind the belligerent president with all his might.
Rep. Ryan could be said to have ended up on better terms with the president than his Senate counterpart, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, since he actually managed to get the president’s health care bill passed in his chamber. McConnell failed to do so.
It’s not as though the president’s “health care” plan, consisting of a push to repeal the Affordable Care Act, would be anything but a disaster for untold numbers of Americans.
In getting to his present position of shill for Donald Trump, Ryan gave up his right to reach out to the American people as if he is on their side.
He unsurprisingly still pretended as though he’s on the American people’s side anyway on Thanksgiving and posted a short video clip of a thing featuring him answering questions about his family’s celebratory practices.
Were the video to have come from someone who’s actually on good terms with the American people, that would be one thing, but Ryan most certainly does not enjoy that luxury.
