Donald Trump Ignorantly Embarrasses Himself In Belligerent Twitter Rant About Economy

President Trump struggles to grasp the concept of a line. Lines — according to the most technical, geometric definition — extend indefinitely in both directions. More broadly, there is always something that has happened before whatever event is under consideration.

Donald Trump doesn’t seem to get that.

Looking at various economic data points shows that they’ve been moving a certain way for some time. For instance, the unemployment rate has been going down and the jobs creation rate has been going up. The stock market also has been going up for some time.

Ask Trump, however, and the world began when he took office as president.

Trump wrote on Twitter this Monday to this effect, seeming to take credit for the positively swinging economic numbers when, in fact, all the numbers already mentioned and more have been moving the same direction since Barack Obama was in office.

Trump wrote:

‘Highest Stock Market EVER, best economic numbers in years, unemployment lowest in 17 years, wages raising, border secure, S.C.: No WH chaos!’

None of those things mean that there is no White House chaos, Donald.

The president has lost his Press Secretary, National Security Adviser, Communications Director, FBI Director, Chief of Staff, dozens of District Attorneys, and even an acting Attorney General in just his first six months in office.

The fact that chaos reigns in the Trump White House is pretty indisputable.
