Donald Trump Loses It On Twitter, Suggests He May Fire Special Counsel

President Trump is known for responding to virtually every political crisis imaginable with an angry Twitter rant, and the appointment of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel for the Russia investigation is no different.

Since Mueller’s appointment, the Trump team has grown gradually more vitriolic in its rhetoric towards him. This vitriol intensified after fired FBI Director James Comey’s recent testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee that seemed to implicate President Trump in charges of obstruction of justice.

Since that testimony, news stories have come out “confirming” that the President is under investigation for obstruction of justice and stating that federal investigators are looking into the possibility of financial crimes by Trump associates.

The morning following the revelations that Trump associates are under investigation for possible financial crimes, Trump posted an angry message on Twitter suggesting that he doesn’t at all recognize any legitimacy on the part of federal investigators.

Trump wrote, “You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history – led by some very bad and conflicted people! #MAGA.”

Trump’s tweet comes after numerous reports have circulated in recent days that the President is considering firing Special Counsel Mueller, and journalist Josh Barro was one of those to take this tweet from Trump as confirmation that he’s leaning in that direction.

Should Trump fire Mueller, it would be yet another nail in his political coffin, since he’s literally already being investigated for obstruction of justice because of firing the last guy who was in charge of investigating his campaign.
