Seriously, Pence? Ignoring the effects of the American Health Care Act — the GOP’s Obamacare replacement bill — and just trying to get it passed is one thing, but celebrating the bill like it’s some kind of monumental accomplishment is another thing entirely.
The Congressional Budget Office literally projects that tens of millions of people will lose health coverage should the AHCA pass. Many of these people rely on their health coverage to live, and should the AHCA pass, insurance companies will be allowed to charge whatever makes them the most money and thus price large numbers of people out of healthcare.
Nonetheless, VP Pence, visited Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this week to tout the Trump Administration’s plan to get Obamacare repealed by the end of the year. Pence has been holding a series of such talks around the country — evidently they don’t have anything for him to do in D.C.
He posted to Twitter on the occasion of his trip to Wisconsin, saying, “Under
@POTUS Donald Trump, we will rescue the American people from the disaster of ObamaCare.”
Twitter unsurprisingly had a lot to say about this. As some of the comments mention, it’s the volatility that the Trump Administration has cast upon the healthcare market since January that is behind the latest round of cost atrocities. The issue isn’t the ACA itself.
