Trump Just Named ‘Personal Faith’ As Key To Beating Cancer — Seriously

Seriously? Is this kind of deluded mindset why Trump thinks it nothing to strip healthcare from tens of millions of Americans?

On Sunday, President Trump issued a proclamation for National Cancer Survivors Day — even though his proposed healthcare bill literally stands to strip healthcare from untold numbers of cancer patients should it pass.

Cancer is a “pre-existing” condition, and should the American Health Care Act pass, insurance companies would again be allowed to price people with pre-existing conditions out of health coverage.

That’s not actually the only issue here with President Trump’s statement, however. He actually also names “personal faith” as key to recovering from cancer.

The context of his statement is his postulating about how cancer survivors can best move forward with their lives following the onset of their disease.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, he doesn’t mention the usefulness/ necessity of things like the social programs and medical support that the Trump Administration continues to chomp at the bit to cut.

Nope; to Trump, cancer survivors just need “personal faith.”

The statement says, in part:

‘We join with all Americans in drawing inspiration from the perseverance of our Nation’s cancer survivors. Their victories are our victories. We celebrate the success stories and we stand with those who are still on their journey to overcome cancer. With a reliance on personal faith and an enduring confidence, they can overcome any challenge.’
