To many millions of Americans, and to the office of the presidency as viewed through the conduct of past occupants of the office, Donald Trump is a disgrace.
On Saturday, 7 people were killed and dozens were wounded after a small group of terrorists carried out a car ramming attack followed by a stabbing attack in London. It’s not clear from reports what caused the deaths of the seven people killed, whether the stabbing rampage or the ramming incident.
While the world reels from being struck so close to home yet again, President Trump took to Twitter to attack the mayor of London for not being alarmist enough.
Early Sunday morning, Trump wrote, ‘At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is “no reason to be alarmed!”‘
That’s correct Donald; with the attackers all dead within ten minutes of the first police call coming in about Saturday’s London terror incident, there is no acute reason for the people of London to be alarmed anymore than they no doubt already are.
The Trumps and London Mayor Sadiq Khan have sparred in the past over issues of terrorism. Khan, who is London’s first Muslim mayor, spoke out against President Trump’s now repeated proposed Muslim targeting travel bans, while Donald Jr. accused Khan of being soft on terrorism.
