With the music world still in shock over the recent suicide bombing attack on a British Ariana Grande show, at least one artist is taking matters into their own hands.
PVRIS — pronounced “Paris,” like the city — has unveiled a fundraiser for the victims of the Manchester attack. They are auctioning a test pressing vinyl copy of their 2014 Acoustic EP, which features four tracks from the band’s early days. There are apparently only five such pressings of PVRIS’s Acoustic EP in existence.
The bidding ends on Friday and the current highest bid is $425 U.S. dollars.
The official Just Giving page to raise money to support the victims of the Manchester attack has accumulated pledges of over one and a half million dollars.
Yes, you read that correctly.
PVRIS has tried to help out in situations like this in the past. For example, the band sold a special limited edition t-shirt in the aftermath of the Pulse shooting in Orlando, Florida, one hundred percent of the proceeds of which went to a fund for the victims.
