President Trump embarked on his first foreign trip this week, but it’s not like this is a different Trump than the one who made a fool of himself time and time again in the eyes of foreign countries without even having to leave the United States.
For instance, he’s going to visit Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the Vatican in the first part of his trip, and Trump has literally promulgated policies during his short time in office that puts him at odds with everyone of the entities that he’ll be visiting.
In the case of Saudi Arabia, Trump angered pretty much the entirety of the Muslim world through his repeated attempts at instituting a Muslim targeting travel ban. In the case of Israel, just recently the President was revealed to have blurted out highly classified information given him by the Israelis to the Russians. And finally, in the case of the Vatican, Pope Francis has spoken out repeatedly against President trump’s frankly inhumane policy agenda.
Trump, of course, thinks that nothing is wrong. On Saturday morning, he posted a message to Twitter on the occasion of his arrival at the first stop of his trip, Saudi Arabia.
He wrote, “Great to be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Looking forward to the afternoon and evening ahead.”
Twitter, however, promptly reminded Trump that he’s in no position to speak as a legitimate player in the global political scene.
