Ah, Paul Ryan.
He’s the guy who never fails to live up to the reputation that prompted an internet prankster to once temporarily edit the Wikipedia page about invertebrates to include the Republican House Speaker as an example species.
Although he came out against Donald Trump in the early days of the 2016 presidential race, he eventually proved just how shallow his opposition was in jumping on board the Trump train in the months before the belligerent businessman took the White House.
Ryan’s real allegiances, as ascertained through just looking at what it is that he spends his time doing, are with turning the ideology that he espouses into a way to get ahead politically.
Nevertheless, like a whole army of the “It’s fine” meme dogs come to life, Ryan and the rest of the Republican leadership continue to pretend like they’re doing nothing wrong.
Ryan posted a tweet on Saturday in honor of Armed Forces Day, which you can see below.
However, Twitter promptly reminded Ryan that on account of a combination of everything from his continued support for gutting social programs to his support for draft dodger Donald Trump, there’s really no way that Ryan can legitimately speak from a place of care and concern for American veterans.
