The internet is a strange thing in that it allows people to voice their opinions with no regard to whether or not people actually want to hear those opinions or not.
This played out on Twitter this Friday, when top Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway offered up some commentary on the case of Anthony Weiner. Weiner announced he would plead guilty on Friday to the charges against him for maintaining a sexting relationship with a minor, as the New York Times article that Conway added her comment to proclaimed: “Anthony Weiner will plead guilty to transferring obscene material to a minor in a “sexting” inquiry.”
Conway’s added commentary notes the rather obvious detail that, seeing as Weiner victimized a minor, he will likely register as a sex offender as a result of this case.
Conway wrote, “Weiner’s one sexting victim was 15 years old and his son in another picture was 4. Guilty plea may result in him registering as sex offender.”
Here’s the thing: Conway is in no position whatsoever to be speaking to Weiner’s case. Her boss, the guy who she still stands behind, flatly denying the rather intuitive reports that she secretly hates him, has been accused of crimes more wide ranging than Weiner’s.
For instance, tapes surfaced late in the campaign season featuring Trump bragging about grabbing women “by the p*ssy,” and Trump has also been documented to have repeatedly barged in on young people participating in his beauty pageants who were in various stages of getting undressed.
And Conway really wants to pretend to speak from a position of moral superiority to Weiner?
