Ivanka Trump has long occupied a highly interesting position in the goings-on of her father’s White House.
Before her father’s ascent to power, she lived as a wealthy faux-liberal citizen of New York City. Since her father’s rise to power, however, Ivanka has taken on a role of social advocate and official member of her dad’s White House team. Her influence has been perceived as so great that her brother Eric suggested that their dad’s change of heart over Syria that led to the recent strike could have been Ivanka’s doing.
The New York Times has now unearthed some very intriguing details about an important step on Ivanka’s road to the power that she now possesses; namely, the release of the infamous tapes where her dad can be heard boasting of grabbing women “by the p*ssy.”
At the time, Ivanka drew criticism for seeming, based on her public statements, to stand by her father even after the release of these tapes.
Now, however, the New York Times is reporting the following of the fallout from those tapes:
‘Ivanka Trump made an emphatic case for a full-throated apology, according to several people who were present for the crisis discussion… As she spoke, Mr. Trump remained unyielding. His daughter’s eyes welled with tears, her face reddened, and she hurried out in frustration.’
At the time, people were “sure” that the release of these tapes would be the end of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Obviously, that wasn’t the case.
