President Trump took to Twitter this Friday morning to tout all that he’s supposedly done to improve the standing of United States veterans.
He wrote, “We are making tremendous progress with the V. A. There has never been so much done so quickly, and we have just started. We love our VETS!”
The problem with Trump’s assertion is that he hasn’t actually “done so much” for our nation’s veterans.
The Executive Orders that he’s signed that have supposedly made the United States a better place for veterans have been toothless and have come in between other actions from the administration that have made the United States a decidedly worse place for veterans.
For instance, the White House gave veterans a tough start to the year by not exempting the Veterans’ Administration from the across the board federal hiring freeze that Trump signed into law shortly after taking office.
Trump has also shown his complete disregard for the well-being of members of the American Armed Forces through his recklessness in approaching the possibility of engaging the United States in more military conflicts then it’s already engaged in.
Twitter promptly reminded Trump of his less then optimal record when it comes to taking care of veterans affairs in the comments section of his tweet on Friday.
