Trump really likes picking fights with people on Twitter.
That’s such a pathetic description to apply to the President of the United States, but it’s accurate nonetheless.
Early Tuesday morning, Trump tried to pick a fight with Canada on Twitter, and the awful thing is that he might actually get the fight that he seems to so desperately want if his administration keeps up with what it’s doing outside of Twitter.
Early Tuesday, Trump wrote: “Canada has made business for our dairy farmers in Wisconsin and other border states very difficult. We will not stand for this. Watch!”
This tweet isn’t the only instance of Trump singling out Canada. In fact, just yesterday, on Monday, the Trump Administration slapped a “punitive” 24 percent tariff on Canadian lumber imports after dairy product talks “fell through.” (It is true that Canada’s protectionist trade policies have an effect on U.S. dairy farmers.)
Twitter users promptly showed up in the comments section of Trump’s Tuesday tweet to rhetorically plead with him to not start a freaking trade war with Canada.
