President Trump’s son Eric made a gallant attempt at a tweet the other day.
The tweet was about one of his dad’s golf courses.
He — well, someone on his account — wrote on Wednesday: “The 78th
#SeniorPGAChampionship heads to @TrumpGolfDC this Memorial Day Weekend.”
Sounds innocuous enough, right?
Eric is one of the President’s two sons who he has tasked to lead the Trump Organization while the patriarch of the family is in the White House. As such, concerns over conflicts of interest in the Trump White House now include him. The President claimed at one point to be adequately addressing conflict of interest concerns via handing off executive control of his businesses to his two sons, Eric and Donald Jr., even though the efficacy of that move is easily debated.
Twitter users showed up in force in the comments section of Eric’s Wednesday tweet about golf, reminding him and all who would listen of just how big of a mess the Trump family actually is.
The Trumps simply can’t get away from accountability for their actions, no matter how hard they try.
